We've had some technical difficulties with the first workshop in our new ONLINE SERIES: Essential 21st Century Leadership Practices. The folks who signed up are being very patient with us, though. And we are ready for a do-over!
The first webinar is finished and ready for viewing. It's available at The Renewable Organization "ning" site. The brand new study guide to accompany it is there, too, and ready for download. And we have rescheduled the first online chat for next week, Tuesday, March 9th.
What this means for you is that you have one more (last!) chance to sign up to get all three workshops in this online series.
- SIX hours of structured learning, including:
- Three webinar presentations (these will be recorded - watch anytime between March 2-April 13)
- Three live online chat session (March 9, March 25, April 15)
- An invitation to engage others in conversation with other participants through a dedicated social networking site;
- THREE booklets: Asking Purposeful Questions, Using Participative Processes, and Working Playfully each filled with tons of practical ideas;
- Permission to use the (recorded) webinars for leadership training in your own ministry setting;
- THREE discussion guides to help you use the webinars with your leaders.
Workshop Descriptions
Asking Purposeful Questions
You'll learn:
- The difference between a good question and a purposeful one;
- How asking the right questions can transform the people in your organization;
- To lead more confidently and assertively (without being an arrogant jerk).
A typical definition of leadership is helping people work together to achieve a common purpose. In the old days, that might have meant telling people what to do and how to do it. Not any more. Learn the importance of and strategies for using participative processes that allow people to bring their whole selves – all of their gifts, passion, and energy – to your common work for the sake of doing what matters together.
Working Playfully
Too many people start their work full of enthusiasm, hope and a sense of adventure but lose it somewhere along the way. In the emerging future, you’re going to need the people you work with to hang on to (or recover) a spirit of joy and freedom so that, together, you can try new things and move in new directions. Learn to unleash creativity and set people free by cultivating an attitude of playfulness and possibility in your shared work.
