We're proud to include the middle of Canada on our tour this fall – the one part of the country Prince Charles and Camilla are skipping on theirs! While the royal couple skips from Newfoundland to Vancouver with stops in Ottawa and Montreal before returning home (read the story here) members of the ARE team will be giving a "Treasure in Clay Jars" workshop in Winnipeg on Tuesday, November 10th. (Click here for a link to the registration page.)
Winnipeg is the base of ARE's Canadian operation. All of the resources published by ARE Books have been designed, edited, and produced in Winnipeg. Most of the printing has been done there, too. The Winnipeg "Treasure in Clay Jars" workshop will be held at Charleswood United Church 4820 Roblin Blvd. If you're in the neighborhood on November 10th, we hope to see you there! Today is the last day to get the early-bird rate of $59 USD – your registration fee includes lunch and a copy of our brand new workbook titled, "The Renewable Organization for Faith-Based Groups." Leaders from the Lutheran, United, and Anglican churches have already registered–all are welcome!
Early-bird registration is also still available for workshops in Orlando, Charlotte, and Philadelphia! Click here for info.
The "Treasure in Clay Jars" workshop challenges the church growth approach of recent decades and presents a post-missional, post-modern approach to being, seeing, and doing life & work together. Playful, provocative, and practical, this workshop has gotten good reviews from participants in previous cities, many of whom have come from great distances to attend. Two of the most common refrains after the workshop from those who participated have been: "...my brain is full" and "I feel hopeful."
