Remember when you were in grade school and you loved to draw what you could not see? Some days it was a picture of outer space; on others maybe it was what you imagined your family would look like when you were an adult, with your own home and kids. Then there were the pictures assigned by a grade school teacher, of what you wanted to be when you grew up. Pictures, lots of them!, often filling up the front of the kitchen fridge.
When is the last time you drew a picture of something you could not yet see?
Today there is a couple in San Francisco daring to draw new pictures of what it might one day look like to get around. Take a look at this video interview from Dwell magazine (it comes after the Lexus commercial and awkward opening seconds of the interview!) - it's about 7 minutes long - grab a coffee and enjoy:
How would what you do today look different if you let your imagination draw tomorrow?
A lot of people are stuck, only seeing what they have always seen. They try tweaking their way out of what has become a mess. They work at making sure they don’t upset the proverbial apple cart…even when the apple cart has already been tipped over! You don't have to be stuck. You are free to be who you have always been meant to be, to see new possibilities, dream new dreams, create new opportunities. Keep your feet on the ground. But let your head reach for the stars so, together, we can do what matters to each of us, to the organizations we care about, and to the world.
Ready? Let's bust out those crayons, today.
