This week the ARE team is kicking off its 2009 "Treasure in Clay Jars" North American nine-city tour. The first workshop - introducing a ground-breaking, post-missional, post-modern way of living, working, and doing ministry together - will be held at the Lutheran School of Theology in Chicago on Thursday, Oct. 8th. Other cities on the tour include San Francisco, Los Angeles, Hartford, Baltimore/DC, Winnipeg, Orlando, Charlotte, and Philadelphia. The cost is $79, which includes a 90-page workbook called The Renewable Organization(TM) for Faith-Based Groups (and lunch!). In some cases, the early-bird registration of $59 still applies. Judicatory leaders attend as our guests, at no charge, and we are offering a special rate for seminary students. Click here to register and for more information.
This workshop will help leaders in faith-based organizations of all types and sizes make their way into our emerging future. We can't say exactly what will happen in your organization if you make the shift from a consumable to a renewable way of working together (i.e., this is not a church growth seminar!) - but we can promise that you will be you, that you'll see what you have to work with more clearly, and that you will be doing what really matters to God.
The one-day workshop will introduce the principles, practices, and process strategies of the Renewable Organization(TM). It will include four key segments:
- An introduction to a renewable framework grounded in a God who is active and energetically committed to the world God made and loves and who calls us to participate in that work.
- A renewable way of being that uses seven key practices to help people release who they are as individuals and as a group.
- A renewable way of seeing that uses three lenses to help you to see what God has given you to work with.
- A renewable way of doing that helps you do what matters in a way that is life-giving and effective.
You'll go home feeling both mentally stimulated and spiritually renewed. Hope to see you there! If you're planning to join us, please post a link to this blog on your own blog, Facebook page, etc.; or forward to your friends and colleagues. Help us get the word out. Thanks!
